Architekt offers professional instruction in a wide range of instruments through the guidance of our highly trained and knowledgable instructors. Our lesson rooms are fully equipped with quality pianos, hi-tech guitar & bass rigs, and top-of-the-line acoustic drumsets.
Lessons are conducted on a weekly basis in thirty, forty-five, or sixty-minute sessions. Additional or extended sessions can also be booked upon request. Billing is done by the calendar month with payment due at the beginning of every month.

If you’ve been around Architekt for a while, you know what this is all about. Since we opened in October 2010, the Rock Ensemble has become a mainstay of our education community. Always a student favorite, the rock ensemble is the best way for students of all ages and skill levels to build their techniques in a band setting. Join together in a band with musical peers and one of our instructors to advance your musicianship in a full band setting!
Tuition: 14-Week Course, just $30 per 90 minute class.
This year-long program has been crafted for high-school students looking to perfect their vocal technique. Vocal select is dedicated to thorough technique training with a goal to produce excellent performance. Throughout the year, accepted students will learn to excel in music theory, vocal blending, and performance. To participate, interested students must audition at our Butler location on June 3rd, 2017. Click the button below to reserve your audition spot.

Kurt is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and educator. As co-founder of Architekt, Kurt's love for education is a cornerstone on which Architekt has been built. His approach to education influences not only his students, but his staff as well. As a private instructor, Kurt has been educating students since 2002. He has a B.S.E. in Music Education from Seton Hall University, where he graduated cum laude and was awarded the Julius Szako award for music. As a studio session musician Kurt has recorded with Sevendust, OneHundredThousand, Wolfgang Van Halen, Call Me No One, Hello Demons...Meet Skeletons, Jerad Finck, and many other projects.
Piano, Voice, Guitar
Jason Warren is a composer who combines his advanced understanding of classical and jazz theory with his love for rock in his solo project, Barfunkl. At William Paterson University, he studied piano performance along with independent studies in harmony, composition and electronic music. Jason has taught piano, guitar, voice, bass and drums along with independent studies in composition for 15 years. During that time, he has also directed choirs and musicals, composed, produced and recorded several albums, and performed with several rock bands all over the east coast. In 2004 and 2005, Jason worked as a writer, producer, pianist and guitarist with Darryl McDaniels of Run DMC.
Christine Nevill (Mezzo-Soprano) is an experienced performer and soloist in the classical, rock, and musical theater styles, performing in venues in the tri-state area and abroad in England and France, including her collaboration as a soloist with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in 2016. Christine's enthusiasm for music easily translates into her interactive teaching style. She believes in the art of reflection and encourages all of her students to reflect on their work. “Every voice is like a fingerprint, no two are alike.” with this teaching model, Christine has created a studio environment that is encouraging and challenging students to become more confident in their own abilities and allows students to map their own growth. She earned her B.A in Music Education from Montclair State University.
Alex is a guitarist, songwriter, and session musician. Since Architekt began in 2010, Alex has been a core member of the education team. As a guitar instructor, his technical prowess mixed with an enthusiastic approach has made him a sought after teacher. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Alex began a career in teaching, session work and touring the United States. He has been studying guitar for 15 years and is an expert in progressive modern rock guitar techniques and improvisation.
Electric & Upright Bass, Ukulele
Steve is an accomplished session bass player, performer, composer and producer. As a private instructor, Steve has been giving bass lessons for five years and models his teaching style after the many accomplished bass players who instructed him. He focuses on technique while keeping the goals of his students at the forefront. Steve has been playing bass for 14 years and has a B.A. in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He enjoys sharing new ideas with his students and helping them play more efficiently.
Drums & Percussion
Tyler is a drummer & percussionist from Wyckoff, NJ. He attended Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA and received a B.M. in Music Recording Technology, and a B.A. in Music with Concentrations in Composition and Jazz Studies, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. During Tyler's four years in college, he was a member of the college jazz band, symphonic band, percussion ensemble, and marching band, where he was a section leader for three years. Tyler is currently a member of the folk band The Jayplayers, based in Harrisburg, PA. Tyler knows that music is one of the best forms of expression a person can experience. He plans to help students reach their full potential and have fun doing so!
Justin is a guitarist, improviser, composer-songwriter, performer and educator. He has been teaching guitar for over 15 years and playing for over 20 years. He progressed from self instruction to private study, winning both regional and national jazz soloist awards in his youth. Justin then went on to study Jazz Performance at William Paterson. Justin has performed and recorded with numerous local & national groups. He released an album of original music he co-produced in 2014. Though his background is steeped in jazz, he possesses a deep love for all music. His goal in teaching is simple: to help others make music. Harmony, rhythm and good technique are merely tools by which we find empowerment through authentic self-expression.
Piano, Voice, Woodwinds
Kristen Houser received her B.A. in Music Education from Montclair State University with a concentration in voice. As a classically trained singer, she uses her specific training as a foundation for all types of singing styles. Kristen believes that classical training produces the best product: beautiful sound with the least amount of tension. This makes classical singing the safest technique for any singer. Along with singing, Kristen shares a passion for other instruments, such as the piano and various woodwind instruments. Her love for children, music, and teaching allows her to participate in the wonderful and exciting journey of discovery, discipline, and determination with her students.
Architekt opened its doors in October 2010.
It has since become a place that musicians call home. Architekt is a private lesson studio founded on sound musical pedagogy, that keeps learning exciting. Architekt is an all-age venue that is clean, and well-run. We aim to inspire musicians of all ages to experience music in ways they haven't before with professional instructors, dedicated staff, and excellent programs.
